Mother Knows Best – The New York Times

Has your mother (or someone who has played a mothering role for you) ever made the right call about your life, your friends, your romantic partners or a problem you were facing? Did she recognize a trait or a talent in you that other people — and maybe even you — overlooked? Did you find her advice annoying? Helpful? A little of both?

Tell us about a time when she was right, or list a few of the things she was correct about.

How does knowing she was right make you feel? Have you ever told her? Would you?

Post your thoughts in the comments, then read the related newsletter to see what others have said about what their mothers were right about.

Students 13 and older in the United States and Britain, and 16 and older elsewhere, are invited to comment. All comments are moderated by the Learning Network staff, but please keep in mind that once your comment is accepted, it will be made public and may appear in print.
